Knisco Staff Profile: Alexandra Glover

Introducing Alexandra Glover, one of our Building Code Consultants.

Having started at Knisco in May 2019, Alexandra fast became a key component of the Knisco BCA (Building Code of Australia) team. She is precise, organised, analytical, and very down to earth.

We conducted a mini interview with Alexandra to provide a window into her world at Knisco.

What is the best part about your job?

The best part of my job is the problem solving. Some jobs are very challenging and unique and really get me thinking. I love how I learn something new every day, the BCA is complex, and with new designs and a client’s forward moving ideas, we always need to find the best way to apply safety and meeting the clients dreams and plans at the same time.

What is your favourite memory here?

My favourite memory from work is definitely the food and drinks the boss’s put on.

What is a common question you get from clients?

A common question I get from clients - “I’ve been doing this for [5/10/15/20] years and never had to do this before – what’s changed”. I feel some people struggle to adapt with the changes in the Building codes and legislation, and we need to be that technical bridge (sometimes the bearer of bad news) to help them, it’s not always easy.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

Spending time with the family and camping.

What are your recent or future goals/accomplishments?

Finishing my Bachelor of Building Surveying, and the birth of my baby girl earlier in 2021.

What is one thing you’d never change about Knisco?

One thing I’d never change about Knisco is the people. It wouldn’t be the same without them. Even with the constant fighting over the AC temperature.
